Feb. 04: Boulder

Innisfree Poetry Bookstore and Cafe (1203 13th St. Suite A, Boulder) presents a special writer on Saturday, Feb. 4, at 12 p.m. Lawrence J. King, internationally known author and motivational speaker, will speak. King hosts two popular radio talk shows which highlight new and established businesses, published authors, musicians, and others with local, regional, national, and international interests.

Feb. 23: Grand Junction

The Poets & Writers of Colorado Mesa University Reading Series features Carol Christ, John Nizalowski, and Luis Silva-Villar on Feb. 23 at Planet Earth, 524 Colorado Ave., Grand Junction. “From 7 p.m. until done.”

Feb. 24: Denver

A book launch party and reading for Rosemerry Wahtola Trommer's The Miracle Already Happening: Everyday Life with Rumi will be held on Feb. 24, 2012, at Ziggies Live Music (4923 W,. 38th Ave., Denver) from 6-8 p.m. Sponsored by Liquid Light Press (http://liquidlightpress.com/), hosted by and hors d’oeuvres by Julie Cummings.

Mar. 14: Lafayette


On March 14th in Lafayette, Colorado, from 7-9 p. m., Jared Smith will host the first of a new series of readings by regionally and nationally recognized poets at Lafayette's historic Mary Miller Theater at 300 E. Simpson Street, in Lafayette. This first reading in the series will feature North Carolina poet John Amen, as well as the poetry of Lafayette and Colorado's Front Range. Admission is free, with the co-sponsorship of the Lafayette Cultural Arts Commission and ARTS!Lafayette.
John Amen is the author of three volumes of poetry, in addition to his collaborative work with Daniel Y Harris, The New Arcana, which will be released this spring by NYQ Press. He is also Editor and Publisher of The Pedestal Magazine, an award-winning on-line international magazine of poetry and literature out of North Carolina. His work has appeared in numerous journals nationally and internationally and been translated into Spanish, French, Hungarian, and Hebrew. He has also released two folk/folk rock CDs, and is an artist working primarily with acrylics on canvas.

John will be reading two sets and there will be two open-mic. sets as well, featuring Lafayette and Front Range poets who show up early and would like to sign-up to read. Admission is free. Come early.
